We went to our first 5th Grade Rocks! and it was so fun. The 5th graders worked all year (I think) on picking songs and changing the words to work for 5th graders (i.e; parents, school work, grades). My shy 5th grader did a great job (I wish the microphone had been working during his speaking part) and he sang and danced in front of people, I was pleasantly surprised.
I don't know what we did the last weekend before school got out since soccer was over. I am sure soccer was played but it wasn't with an organized team.
Monday, June 1, Michael Graff came home from his mission. We are sad we weren't able to go but being able to FaceTime was fun. We can't wait until we can see him when we go to Utah this summer.
Tuesday was 1st Grade End of Year Ceremony at 8:30AM(!). My babies have a hard time waking up early and I have a hard time with them when they wake up early and then really have a hard time with them later that afternoon. I love hearing what they think they are the "best" at. The 1st Grade Picnic was at 11am. We showed up but didn't bring a lunch, so we chatted and played. Isaac had been taking his bouncy playground ball (it had flames on it, he got it for his birthday from my parents) to school, he was playing with it and it got kicked up on the flat roof of the school. Maybe we will see that ball again but I doubt it. Isaac was in tears and I am glad I was there to comfort and explain why kicking a ball high near a building wasn't the best idea. Austin had soccer practice that night.
Wednesday was 3rd Grade End of Year Ceremony at 8:30AM(! again!). And then it was the 3rd Grade Ice Cream Party while the kids watched Because of Winn Dixie (a book they read in 3rd grade). I forgot to send Austin to school with the whipped cream we signed up to bring so we went to drop it off and ended up staying to help dish up. Benjamin and Luke "helped" so they got to have their own ice cream sundae. Austin had Cub Scouts, Isaac had soccer practice and Adam had 11yo Scouts.
Thursday was the last day of school and the 5th Grade Continuation Celebration starting at 9AM (not as bad as the 8:30 but my babies sleep past 10am). It was a little long for the babies. But we took everyone home when it was over...I did not need to be back at school to get the other school kids less than a half an hour later (when school was technically out). Austin had his end of school pool party with his class at someone's house and Adam had his 5th grade party at Lifetime fitness pool with a slide (siblings not invited). And then Isaac had his 1st grade party at Parr Park at the Splash Pad later that afternoon. It was a fun, tiring, hot day.
Friday, ah Friday, was the first day without having to get up and out the door early and we recovered from our busy week. Isaac had an indoor soccer game with his Evo team that evening.
Saturday, soccer Saturday. Soccer practices starting at 9am. Austin went to a birthday party that night.
Sunday, meetings, meetings and more meetings. Bryan had meetings and then we had our 3 hour block and then I was at Cub Scout day camp meetings for over 2 hours.
Monday, we rested and got ready for a busy week.
Tuesday, first day of Cub Scout Day Camp and Austin's birthday. He got sung to at camp. I got to volunteer while Bryan worked from home and Adam was "in charge" of the kids. They actually played video games and watched TV until I got home after 3, and then everyone (including the extra kids I brought home and their older brother who spent the day with Adam) went swimming. We went to Pei Wei's for dinner.
Wednesday was Cub Scout Day Camp with swimming after. And then I booked it out to Dallas to go for fancy tacos and to see Cinderella at Fair Park with Jill. The lady next to Jill kept saying the lines a few seconds after the actors said them. "Impossible"
Thursday was Cub Scout Day Camp with swimming after. And Jeremiah was able to come spend part of the day too.
Friday was Cub Scout Day Camp with no swimming after.
Saturday, soccer Saturday. Soccer practices starting at 9am. Bryan and I went out to dinner while the kids went to play with friends.
