Papa B's Retirement Celebration

Papa B retired in June (I thought I had already posted about this). So many of us were there. We missed those not there but we understand. Thursday was the start of the celebrating with a big, fancy, adult dinner. I had Jill watch my 3 older boys and then she brought them to the Luau on Friday. And then she stayed for the fun on Saturday, white-water rafting- just so it is documented, 2 times in a row I didn't go because I had just had a baby, not complaining just journaling. I only have photos from the Luau on this camera (I haven't checked the other camera) and I can't believe the only photo of Todd is in the big group photo.

Disco Day

Disco Day was not as happy of a day as Hippie Day. They were super excited about it the night before when we had them try on the clothes even comments like "I can't wait until I can put on the sideburns!" were expressed. Then after they were put on, tears. We showed the teachers the sideburns but then #1 had me take his off before he even walked into his classroom. #2 had his teacher take them off. I guess they are more like their dad than I thought.

Hippie Day

This week was Red Ribbon Week. I forgot about Crazy Hair Day on Monday and the guilt that accompanied that was overwhelming, so I called Jill. She was watching the babies while I helped in #2's class so she went some places and got some fun things for the rest of the week. I made the tie-dye shirts. I have a better idea of how to make them better next time. They enjoyed Hippie Day a lot. These are mostly for Matt because I was sure missing Matt's tie-dye skills.

Lining Up

#3 has been lining things up like crazy lately. Here is one example of the lining up and wearing his "Matt" shirt, if he could he would wear it every day.

The Artist

My second son LOVES to draw. He LOVES to draw on the white board at my parents' house. This has been one of my favorites. Notice the baby is flying. And that everyone is blue but me, I am pink.

Last Saturday

Saturday we met a friend for dinner. It was great to catch up. I have missed having friends. I might just have to think about moving to Nor Cal :)

I took these photos in the car on the way there with my phone.

The only one still awake at midnight was #3. The older 2 went straight to bed when we got home. And #4 couldn't be a better baby and sleeper, occasionally we have a rough night but he usually goes down at 10 and wakes up at 7:30 (which is when I usually wake the big boys up for school so it is perfect). That being said, I need something perfect-ish right now.

I know Jill will be favorite aunt but I can be okay with second.

I was lucky enough to be able to see little O enter the world. It was amazing. Katie did great. I had sympathy pains the whole time. I am so glad Katie was willing to let us be there. Hopefully I can be there for the next one too :)

My Mini Me

This was as we were getting in the car to go get the oldest from school one day. He really is me.

My Baby

My baby is growing so fast. The photo of him in the Bumbo is from the end of August or September. #3 son LOVES his baby brother. I hope it stays this way. I want them to be as good as friends as the older 2.
Things about baby:
-he sleeps through the night, most nights (11pm-7am approximately)
-loves his brothers, they can get him to smile all the time
-rarely cries, seriously. I thought I had good babies before. When he wakes up in the morning he kind of sings to let you know he is awake and if you don't respond (it has been as long as 15 minutes before) then he starts to whimper and then real crying, sometimes it is straight to the crying but for the most part singing and I LOVE it.
-he travels well. We just got back from Utah and he did great. He did have 2 adults sitting next to him instead if 2 kids so that might of helped but still that is a long drive and I got cranky.
-he likes people. He likes people to talk, not necessarily to him but he likes to be around people when they are talking. He likes when people hold him, anybody. I haven't seen him fussy with anybody...yet.
-he is a crazy eater. He likes to look from side to side. He eats every 2 hours almost like clock work (except for in the night and I can handle that).
-with the eating comes spitting up. He does it pretty regularly. For the first month of his life it was rare and now he does it. a. lot. It might be because we drive up and down the mountain a lot but I am not sure and there isn't really a way around that.
-he doesn't roll over yet but I think if I gave him more than a few minutes here and there on the floor, he would. But like I mentioned earlier, his brother that is home all day with him LOVES him.

The Day Before School

The day before school started we went down the mountain to get the oldest shoes (I had shoes that were a half size too big) and to have fun swimming. I think Bryan commuted that day so it wasn't so long of a day for me since I had great help, why did Ryan have to go back to work? I agree completely with Elizabeth in her opinion about why dads work when they have young kids at home and retire when they are empty nesters, seems backwards.

Another One Bites the Dust

Another tooth is gone. Apparently he had some help from the brother just younger than him. They were playing and he got bumped and only one of the 2 very loose teeth fell out.
My parents, Elizabeth & her family, Katie & Ryan, and Jill & Grant came up for dinner. Those shredded beef tacos were good. A few went swimming in the lake that afternoon too. Well, Bryan, Tyler and the kids minus Ben since he is just a tiny baby.
