SpongeBob Squarepants?

These pictures were taken in August but I think they are cute (and Austin doesn't get very many postings of just him). I also want to remind people that this is a form of journally for me so that I won't forget events or daily(weekly/monthly) happenings.

Austin is eating bagels with cream cheese in the last picture and in the first 2 he is wearing a floaty type swimsuit.

Six Wierd Things...(I was tagged)

Six Things
Rules: Each player of the game starts with “6 weird things/habits about you”. You need to list six weird habits you have or things you do that seem weird to others. At the end you must list or “tag” six people who need to complete this. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own “6 weird things/habits” as well as state this rule clearly. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they have been tagged and to read your blog!!

1. I talk in my sleep
. I have talked in my sleep for years, the best story was my first year at Girls' Camp. One of my really good friends and I had a conversation in our sleep across the cabin. I still talk occasionally (if I am in deep sleep).

2. I am "addicted to diet coke". I do not consider myself addicted, I love to drink it but I have not drunk it before and there will probably be more times in my life when I won't drink it.

3. I have wierd hours of sleep. I wake up late and go to bed even later. I like to have time to myself and that usually happens late at night. My kids wake up late so I do too.

4. I have been in nursery for most of my married life. For the callings that I have had married, being a primary teacher (NOT in nursery) as accumulated to be months. We were nursery leaders for two years before we had kids and then were primary teachers for 2 1/2 months before Adam was born. Then we moved and were in limbo. When we got to Texas, I was a Primary teacher by myself for a few months but then started going to nursery with Adam while my great class went to Sharing Time. While in the hospital after having Austin, I accepted a calling to be in Nursery. Since moving back to So Cal, we have been taking turns going with Austin... but our records are here now, so we hopefully will be getting callings.

5. I love systems. I fold laundry a certain way. Load the dishwasher a certain way, unload a certain way. Check my email and blogs. Okay I am a FREAK!

6. I like walking around Target/Wal-Mart. I really could spend hours in these stores and have not very much in my cart (only if I have the time and my kids are behaving, but they like to shop).

Tagging:
1. MaLaan
2. Erica
3. Warners (both Dave & Janel can do this, I am interested to read what you both put)
4. Ali
5. Deena
6. Beebe

Handy Man Adam

Ga (or Grandma for those of you who don't speak Adam) bought a tool set while we were in Hawaii and the boys really have enjoyed playing with everything in it. I LOVE these pictures (especially the first one-- it shows off my great photography skills). The last 3 are great too because he was really under that table "fixing" it for at least 20 minutes, maybe 30.

Sumo Wrastlers

(no, I did not spell wrestlers wrong-- pronounced as spelled in title)

So, I have been slacking on the blogging. These pictures are from September and I meant to post them then but... I just really liked these pictures. I promise I will post more current and more regularly.Austin makes an excellent sumo wrastler, he loves to wrastle anyone and anything bigger than him.
Adam needed to be a sumo wrestling pirate. He doesn't have his sword.
Conrad loves to play with his cousins and they love to play with him, sometimes that is the only way I can get them in the car--"do you want to see Con?" and they go running to the car.
Austin is just too cute in this picture.

Pirates and Computer Geeks

Adam loved dressing up like a pirate and did so for many days until the hat, eye-patch, sash, and sword (he prefered one sword over another) disappeared. He might be a pirate for Halloween, we have not decided yet. And anybody who wants to come, we are going to Disneyland for Halloween.
Conrad had to get in on the pirate action and Beebe likes to dress like her baby, so she has on a sash too.
This is how we spent College Football Saturday. The BYU game was on the internet, so Bryan and Tyler had their laptops set up for listening and checking stats. Dad was working (it just makes for a more nerdy picture with the 3 laptops and Matt on some electronic device.

Cookies For MaLaan (okay for Jon)

I found my recipes! I thought they were in storage because I searched for them; I looked everywhere: the car, our room, random places throughout the house. Then today I loooked in the bag of presents that I brought from Texas and there it was MY RECIPE BOX! MaLaan requested this cookie recipe and told me I should post it on my blog, here it is.

Muffin, Muffin, Who Stole the Muffin?

Jill walked in the kitchen the other morning (okay almost a month ago) and found Adam with a muffin. Apparently, he had stretched to reach the muffins on the counter and then plopped down on the rug to eat it. And after all his hard work to get the muffin, he shared with Austi.
I am glad Aunt Jill was around to capture this moment with her camera, I probably would have just put Adam at the table, Austin in the highchair and missed out on these cute photos. Thanks Jill for making my blog great.

Fun with Kevin and a Diaper Box

Kevin Durr is great to come over and play with the boys. He pushed them around in the diaper box for hours. And when he would rest, Adam would ask in his sweetest voice, "choo-choo Kevin." How could he say no to him? Yes, Conrad is in the box and Adam is helping to push the train.
When Kevin lays on the ground, Adam climbs on him and yells "Yee-yah! yee-yah!" in his ear (so Kevin will be a horse). That is why Kevin is a favorite.

*For those of you who don't know Kevin, we have known the Durrs since we moved to San Berdo in 1984.

"Like Mother Like Son"

I guess this is why I don't really get that nervous about Austin having Little People in his mouth.
Austi has a bigger belly than I did and he doesn't have a ruffley diaper cover.
This is the back of Ann's head and Beebe is holding me up (she is 4 years old and I am maybe 6-9 months old).

Austi the Cannibal

Austin loves Little People. In a few of these photos, he has TWO in his mouth. Aunt Jill took these pictures almost 2 months ago and is still enjoying them. I will be posting more Aunt Jill photos later. To appease the masses, here is a posting from the Browns.

Kauai, HI Aug 25-Sept 2, 2006

This is Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of Hawaii. Pictures do not do the canyon justice. It was a beautiful start to our vacation.

There are wild chickens EVERYWHERE! I had to get a picture (and this was our first official day there) , this mother her and her chick were easy to take a picture of. They let me close (but not too close) but the rooster that was with them would have nothing to so with me. On our last day when we were eating lunch at Spouting Horn (we did NOT have our camera with us and we were too lazy to walk back to the car) the roosters were flocking around us trying to get our burritos, I could have taken many roosters photos that time.
I can't remember what falls this are but you can see them behind us, aren't we cute?

Here we are with a river behind us (again I can't remember the name of the river).

There are waterfalls behind us here and there was a man in the parking lot selling things right near a "No Vendors" sign. He had lots of interesting facts, gave me the flower in my hair and gave Bryan a wierd fruit to try (Bryan told me I wouldn't like it so I didn't try it).
I think this is Ponihani State Beach. You go on a 5 mile dirt road and there were a few other cars along this long beach. It was interesting to see such a beautiful beach with not many people on it. This is the West side of the island, which is hotter and drier. The cliffs are the Napali coast and on our next trip we will boat along it.
This is Ke'e Beach, the other side of the Napali coastline. The snorkling is great here but when we went to snorkle it was quite chilly and rainy, so we stayed a little while and then hit a few more beaches on the way home.
Here we are on Ke'e Beach, I love how I look in Bryan's fishing hat. It was really hard to take pictures of just us, normally the boys are the focus of our photos and we are just extra, this is why there are very few photos (I think).
This is Hanalee and if you enlarge the photo and look through the fog you can see 4 waterfalls.
This is the lighthouse in Princeville, it was closed when we were there and it wasn't that big of a priority to go back later. The signs read that whales, seals and dolphins can be seen here in the winter months.
This is the tunnel of trees. I took this as we were driving through, and I am pretty surprised that it turned out this good, Bryan is a moderately fast driver.

We had a wonderful time. We spent a little bit of time with Bryan's aunt & uncle who live there. His mom was vacationing with a friend so we went to church with them and had dinner together Sunday and then snorkling with them on Monday, they went home Tuesday. We were so lucky to be able to go on this vacation that we both needed, family helped a lot and knowing our boys were in good hands made this trip relaxing for us. We are already "planning" another trip but hopefully with the boys.

PS I hope everyone likes the HAIR photos because I think those are the only photos I have of myself with short hair.
