The end of the extended soccer season

With so many rainy days this season, the soccer season got extended by 2 weeks (I think).  I think we only have one soccer party left since Adam will have to miss his for 5th Grade Rocks.

Going back to the last time I posted, Wednesdays are crazy days. Austin usually has cub scouts (unless there is pack meeting) 4:30-5:30 usually at the church. Isaac has Evo practice 5:30-6:30 (but usually goes until 6:45). And Adam has 11yo Scouts 7-8pm. It makes shuttling the kids hard when you are doing it solo since Austin needs to be picked up at the same time Isaac needs to be at practice and then Isaac is usually done at soccer at the same time Adam needs to be at the church. And eating dinner together is almost impossible, oh wait we eat sometimes after Adam gets home (after 8PM!) because I am finally able to make dinner while he is at scouts.

I can't remember if Isaac had practice that Wednesday or not. The rain really has caused havoc on soccer.

Thursday, I think Benjamin had soccer practice.

Friday, Benjamin picked going to In-N-Out for lunch with his dad (the rest of us who don't go to school) for his birthday. Adam and Isaac had soccer practices.

Saturday, we had 3 soccer games. Bryan took Isaac and Benjamin to their games while I took everyone else to Austin's game (I think it took us 40 minutes to get there). When we got back, Bryan took Austin to his soccer party at Dave and Buster's. Austin's coach is really nice and pays for the party (last season and this season). While they were gone, I got to call Honda dealers seeing who could give us the best deal today. And to find out what colors they had.
*I really don't enjoy trying to be sold something that I am already sold on. I don't like aggressive people. I don't like people who play games and can't answer my questions..."do you have a silver Accord sport?" "How much will that cost?" I thought those were questions they could answer over the phone.  Salesperson "I can get a silver one" "how much have others quoted you?" "I can beat a written offer by $500" I can't get even a verbal offer since everyone is waiting for a number to beat 😖

Bryan got home and took over the car stuff (thank goodness). He found Billy at Honda of Fort Worth who actually gave us a price (a really good price) but he didn't have silver. So we went to another dealership who "had a silver" one and could beat Billy's price. If Billy had had the silver, we would have gone with him from the get go. We went to the other dealership. And spent an hour there waiting for them to get the car and paperwork ready. And then we found out they didn't have a silver one. They had one key and a valet key but were missing the car and the other key. I was NOT happy. They had other colors but the only reason we went there was because they had silver.  We left and headed to see Billy. Benjamin and Julia were with us. Benjamin was so funny (and happy) the entire time, even though he wanted to go home. It was his birthday and he spent a lot of it car shopping/buying. At Honda of Fort Worth, they had fountain drinks, Benjamin refilled his lemonade 3 times and danced and watched his reflection in their big windows. We kept telling Benjamin he got a new car for his birthday. We got pizza when we got home and have kept on celebrating this week too.

Sunday was Ward Conference so Bryan had meetings and went to visit people after church. Benjamin had chicken burritos for his Sunday Birthday Dinner and Jill made him the chocolate cake with sprinkles. Jill was able to stay for dinner and cake and Mexican Train. And then she went to work.

Monday, Isaac had Evo practice and Adam had soccer practice. Austin had a soccer game starting at 7:15PM(!). Another late night. Oh, we had spaghetti and meatballs per Benjamin's request "for my birthday" and we ate without Bryan, before all the soccer practices started. I took Isaac to his practice at 5:30, went back got everyone else who was finishing up dinner and getting ready to be at the soccer fields and got back for Adam's practice starting at 6pm. We waited for Isaac to finish practice and then headed to the game fields for Austin's game. I was really grateful that Austin's game was a home game and not somewhere else. Bryan started working at a firm in Dallas, so he met us at Austin's game.

Tuesday, Isaac had artwork in the school district art show and they had a reception for the artists and their families (our flyer invited us to go on Tuesday). Bryan was in Dallas and didn't think he would make it in time to join us there. I took 6 kids 11 and under to an art show at dinner time. I contemplated having Julia and Luke in the stroller but decided to have Luke walk and I would carry Julia. I'm glad I did that. There were so many people there and a lot of artwork, including tables down the center with ceramics and paper mâché pieces. After walking through, finding Isaac's artwork (thankfully his art teacher put what work of art was on display), and seeing other friends' works, we and to the other side of the building to the Wizard of Oz hands on exhibit. It was very cool and worth staying around for. Bryan met us at Los Amigos for dinner (I mopped that day and knew we would be gone all evening). Another late night.

Wednesday, I found out our friends were moving (like loading up the truck that day and the next moving) because they gave us their food storage. I went to get it and then thankfully Bryan was around to get Austin to his Cub Scout swim party. Then he took Isaac to soccer practice and Adam to his last soccer game of the season (he picked up a couple boys from the Cub Scout swim party for practice and the game). I picked up Austin (and his friend) and we went to Adam's game. Took Adam and friend to Scouts after the game while Bryan went to our friends to pick up more stuff. He called me and told me to come over to see what we wanted. We loaded up everything (only way she would let me help and she didn't even know it at the time).

Thursday, I tried to have the almost 2yo over to play while they finished packing and cleaning. It didn't happen but I was able to take more stuff for them. And since Bryan worked from home, we took his car to get cleaned. With him having to go into the office and stay later, I don't have the help to get the car ready to sell. Benjamin got to have his friend, Allison, over to play and then stay until their soccer party at Parr park.

Friday, we took the Burgoyne girls home but since it was suppose to be field day but the rain moved it indoors and they modified the schedule, Jeremiah was there not at the middle school. My boys have been asking to walk home for months now, this was perfect for them to walk part way to Compass while I took the girls home and then went back to get the boys. Jeremiah was able to come over and play for a few hours. We picked up Bryan's old car. Hopefully I can get it sold quickly.

One of these days I will put photos on my journal, photos are a great memory jogger for me.
